What we believe about kids' data
- We collect the minimum data needed to make Rodybee work — and nothing more.
- We never sell data. There are no third-party advertising networks in the kid experience.
- Parents control everything: viewing, exporting, and deleting their kid's data.
- Kids never sign up themselves. There is no kid login, kid email, or kid social profile.
What we collect
• From the parent: email and password (hashed), country, locale, notification preferences.
• About the kid (entered by the parent): first name, date of birth, country, school grade level. We do not ask for last name, address, photo, or government ID.
• Practice activity: exercises attempted, answers given, time per exercise, mastery state. Used solely to drive the learning engine and the parent dashboard.
• Voice input is processed in the browser by default. If the fallback transcription service is used, audio is sent to that service and not retained by us beyond the transcription request.
How we use it
• To run the placement, mastery, spiral review, and checkpoint logic.
• To show parents progress, streaks, areas to practice more, and weekly/monthly recaps.
• To send the parent transactional emails (password reset, weekly recap, missed-day reminders) — the parent can turn off non-essential emails any time.
• We never use it for advertising, profiling outside Rodybee, or sharing with data brokers.
Your rights
You can view, export, or delete your account and your kid's data from the parent dashboard. Deletion is real (not soft), with a short grace period to recover from accidental clicks.
You can request a full data export by email — we'll send a JSON within 14 days.
Where applicable (EU/UK GDPR, COPPA, Australia Privacy Principles, LGPD), you have the legal rights to access, rectify, and erase data, and to lodge a complaint with the relevant authority.
Where data lives
Data is hosted in the region you select at signup (currently Australia or the EU). We use Cloudflare R2 for media (kid voice clips, when applicable; printable PDFs). We do not transfer data outside the chosen region except as needed for transactional email delivery and error monitoring (Sentry).
