Curriculum & Standards · Anatomy (K-6)

Anatomy (K-6) — the human body for primary kids, calibrated to Singapore + Japan + Korea + UK + Australia + Finland + Spain + Mexico.

From recognizing fingers and toes to understanding how the heart, lungs and brain work as a team. Rod and Seb fly across body diagrams pointing to organs and explaining what each one does. The progression is gentle: K-G1 starts outside (head, neck, arms, torso, legs, face, the five senses); G2-G3 introduces life stages, growth and the everyday hygiene habits that keep us healthy; G3-G4 builds the skeleton (skull, spine, ribs, arm and leg bones), then layers muscles, joints and antagonist pairs on top; G4-G5 follows food through the digestive system, distinguishes types of teeth, and unpacks the respiratory and circulatory teams; G5-G6 moves to the nervous, endocrine, urinary and immune systems, lays out age-appropriate puberty and reproductive anatomy with respect and correct names, basic menstrual cycle, fertilization → pregnancy → birth, the DNA instruction manual, and finishes with first aid (calling emergency, choking, bleeding, burns, CPR intro), emotional health, knowing when to ask for help, and screens vs rest.

Why anatomy belongs at the heart of primary science

Knowing your own body is the most concrete entry point to science. PISA Science consistently puts Singapore, Japan and Korea at the top because their elementary curricula treat the human body as a unified, multi-year story — not a single chapter. UK, Australia and Finland reinforce that by anchoring science in environmental and personal-health contexts from age 5. Rodybee bundles the union of all these traditions into 94 skills and 11 hexes, with image-based identification questions, mascots that point to body parts, and language that respects each kid (positive body image, age-appropriate puberty, correct names without stigma).
